How Is a Breast Lift Performed?
Breast lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia and is tailored to the amount of lifting and reshaping needed for each patient. Depending on your goals, it may be combined with breast augmentation to add fullness. During surgery, excess skin is removed, and the underlying breast tissue is reshaped to create a firmer, more elevated contour. Your surgeon may also reposition the areola higher on the breast to create a more natural look. Depending on how much correction is needed, incisions may be limited to the area around the areola or may also extend vertically down the lower portion of the breast and along the breast crease for more extensive reshaping. After lifting and reshaping the breasts, your surgeon will carefully tighten the remaining skin and close the incisions.
